What did Soviet leaders treat high foreign guests with? Which food did they prefer themselves? The new offer “Favourite dishes from Soviet leaders” from Vitaly Kovalyov slightly discloses the secret of the Kremlin cuisine.
The guests of Pavilion restaurant may try fish solyanka which dear Leonid Ilyich treated Mr Richard Nixon with, young pork aspic – one of Nikita Khruschev’s most favourite dishes, steamed starred sturgeon served in the Kremlin on the rout to the honour of Anvar Sadat, cherry pie highly appreciated by Konstantin Chernenko and other masterpieces prepared by Vitaly Kovalev per recipes found in other archives.
